HATS

Our hats are handmade in small home industries and women's co-operatives in local villages in and around Madagascar.  These uniquely handcrafted products are made from raw materials locally found and harvested by the communities.  They are known to be gathered by hand which is then cut and sewn manually to produce the materials for the baskets.  The products are then designed and coloured with the use of natural plants and roots also found within their area.  All materials are naturally grown and produced in a sustainable manner to promote an Eco-friendly working environment and finished product.  The process of harvesting, weaving and dying are skills developed many years ago and have been handed down through the generations.  As these items are made from only natural materials, slight variations may occur.
